I’ve long been a fan, and was unsurprised to see the effort required to maintain their reputation at the top of the Provence rosé tree, a position held ever since Marcel Ott created the domain in 1932. Clos Mireille runs right up to a secluded stretch of beach- I must admit to having a wee against a tree, overlooking the Med a few years back! One hell of a view! They rotate blocks of vineyard, leaving them fallow for 5 years before re-planting. A huge financial and physical commitment, but key to achieving the purity of fruit in their wines. A thing of beauty, with a delicate mix of citrus and wild strawberry and a long, silky finish that will leave you speechless. Fire up the barbie, whack on the biggest prawns you can find, and smile.
