Ferghettina Rosé Brut

This is from Italy’s most famous sparkling wine region, Franciacorta. Roberto spent 20 years as cellarmaster at Bellavista (a pioneering estate in the region) before creating Ferghettina in 1990. This wine is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, and is made using the traditional ‘méthode champenoise’—meaning in the same way as in Champagne, with a secondary fermentation in the bottle. Pale in colour, it is known as an ‘onion skin’ rosé. On the nose, it’s a burst of fresh strawberries, raspberries, a hint of rose petal, and citrus zest. On the palate, it’s crisp and refreshing, with a vibrant acidity that gives way to a smooth, creamy texture and a light, dry finish. This is a beautifully delicate wine with lively sparkle. You’ll want to pop the cork and start celebrating, no matter what the occasion.
