Hancock & Hancock Fiano

More and more Italian grape varieties are being planted in Australia as they seem to be ideally suited to this sunny climate. Fiano is no exception . The vines were grafted on to old Chardonnay rootstocks in 2012 and now after 10 years maturing the vines are producing a healthy crop. The location in McClaren Vale is relatively cool and benefits from proximity to the Gulf of St Vincent. The cool afternoon sea breezes help maintain acidity in the grapes resulting in a wine imbued with much of Fiano's native land character.
