Hans Herzog Pinot Gris

Hans Herzog heralds from a Swiss family of winemakers going back over 500 years. He moved to New Zealand where he was free to experiment with grape varieties not permitted back home. His new home is an old apple vineyard on the edge of Rapaura just beside the Wairau river, with what is widely regarded as one of New Zealand's finest Michelin-starred restaurants adjacent to the winery. This is a rich and opulent Pinot Gris with texture is abundance. Slightly waxy palet with tropical and stone fruits and hint of spice from some old barrels used in the ageing process.
