Meerlust Chardonnay

Meerlust is one of the most historic estates in South Africa, the pride of the Myburgh family since 1756. Hannes Myburgh takes the helm today, the eight generation to do so. Arguably best known for their Rubicon Bordeaux blend, they also make a cracking estate red as well as small quantities of this here Chardonnay.

What was once a buttery, tropical chunker is now made in a much leaner, focussed style, with some style! Made solely from fruit grown on their Stellenbosch estate, fermented in top quality French oak barrels. Apricot, pear and lemon zest flavours combine, reigned in by a sleek streak of acidity and a classy, salty minerality. Imagine a Meursault at £40/bottle and you're not far off!
